From The City To Red Dust

Broome, first stop.
I saw the most amazing sunset of all time. Cable Beach filled up with locals, visitors and bugs.

The following day we drove to the Bunuba Country. Our new home for the next 6 months.

Our Local Swimming Pool

I will write more another day. Things takes time here, so a bit here and a bit there.

The Beginning of Knowledge is the Discovery of Something We do Not Understand.

In a week time I'll be living on a cattle station in Fitzroy Crossing.
A break from city life and coffees.
Excited? Yes. Nervous? Yes.

I have this vision that it is gonna be the adventure of my life. Hunting for Barramundi, catching Iguanas and learning a new language...

Learning about Aboriginal culture from the locals is more that I could ever have asked for.
The students have tried to explain family trees, languages, the law and their history, but it is so hard to comprehend the complexity of their systems. Living there will hopefully give me an broader understanding (not sure if I have any) about the Aboriginal culture.

The program is to establish a new framework for cross-cultural learning and the development of intercultural competence among students and adults from different backgrounds.

These are some photos where we will be living.

The logo shows pathways from different directions and meets in the middle:
 Many Cultures One Community

There is a lot to organise before departure, so packing and preparing is on the top of the list. Socialising as much as I can.. The thought of living without phone, social network, TV, supermarket, cafes, bars, friends is exciting but scary.
All the things I am gonna miss out on.
I most likely don't realise what it is like before I am living there...
The plan is to have this blog where I can show photos and write stories about everyday life from the cattle station..

So welcome and I hope I can share some great experiences from the outback.
